Graffiti Lounge was a Group Show at Paul Nache, Gisborne, New Zealand with Evan Woodruffe, Kimberley Anna, Glen Hayward, Virginia Leonard, Richard Darbyshire, Teresa HR Lane, Eloise Cato, Sue Dickson, and myself in February 2016.
During its inception, this collaboration, went through many iterations, from moving images to projected animations and pixel-based collages, soundscapes and glitch based art. It broke down, came undone, then crystallised and distilled into “a gendered space” with analog interlaced animations and exclusive soundscapes.
‘Mnemonic-Mimetic’ is a 4.8 by 1.8m wall collage, commissioned by Maidment Theatre, University of Auckland. I had the pleasure to work on this project from 15-18th of November, using old posters from shows staged on their premises. Photos by Kim Annan and some progress photos at the end of my rationale.
